These pine butter paddles were everyday workhorses in French kitchens, kept near cool stone counters for shaping freshly churned butter. This one shows the soft wear of years of use, with rounded edges and a surface smoothed by repetition. Pine gives it a pale honeyed tone and a featherlight feel. We found ours at the Foire de Chateau in Paris and love the idea of using it as a base for salt and pepper shakers in a kitchen display or with your favorite candle perched on top.
