These little brass frames were everywhere in France during the late 1800s: on mantelpieces, bedside tables, tucked into trousseau trunks. This one features beveled glass and the signature spring-back mechanism that made swapping photos delightfully easy (no fumbling with tiny nails). The brass has developed that coveted patina with less shiny newness, more inherited heirloom. Ball feet keep it stable on any surface. We found ours just outside of Paris.
